Buy some used heads and have head games work them over. Also do cams while it is apart. It will still be reliable.

Well, just got a call from the dealer. It's not even a cracked head. Or coolant leaking out the exhaust. It's actual 93 octane fuel...

Apparently injectors #1 and 3 weren't firing correctly?! They suggested I replace all 6 injectors for a total cost of $1400...

What does everyone think of this?!

Ah the benefits of ethanolized gasoline...........with it's wonderful addition of residual water in station tanks. Hearing many stories from NEast and Texas where the conversion from MTBE was bad news.

Id buy injectors off the boards and swap them in less than 1 hour, WAY cheaper than $1400. BTW why would the new gas cause this? How much water in these tanks?

How hard is it to swap the injectors Alberto?

You said less than 1 hour? Where does the $1400 come in?

Because the injectors, from the dealer, are about $150 each.

Injectors here on the classified board sell for about $100 per set of 6.

LOL, $1,400. I would definitely either find a local shop or get the shop manual and do it yourself after purchasing some used injectors from the FS section. It really isn't difficult at all. If you need a shop manual, let me know.

Well, I got some injectors off the board for a buck 25 and went to ask Nissan about labor only. They still wanted 550-600.

I believe I'm having the car towed home and I'm going to either do it myself or get a local mechanic to do it... I believe I could easily do it myself with that shop manual someone mentioned?

I just don't know the torque specs etc. to retorque the plenums and other pieces...

Found the service manual. I should be good to go now... Ordered the lower plenum gasket from nissan also.

Anyone have any thoughts on the kinetix plenum with pre-adhered gasket? Can I safely remove and reinstall this with the same gasket? Or will it need sent back to Kinetix?! If thats the case, I plan on just buying the motordyne or something...

Your gasket should be fine, just take your time with removing it. I know i had mine off and on atleast 6 times.

Hint: INCH-LBS not ft-lbs.

The torque specs are on the service manual, so I think I'm good to go. Most of them are inch/lb. however Some of them are foot lb. although not much (I think 11-13 ft. lb. is the max i saw).
