Default maintenance on cusco LSD

Hey guys,

I recently got a cusco RS 1.5 way installed in my car. I talked to Taka Aono during a drift day and he said that the oil should be changed every time you change the engine oil. Also, he told me i should get a overhaul about once a year for it to keep operating like new . Any input on this guys?

If you drift, I would change my diff oil every oil change and do as Taka says. Drifting must put a lot of stress on the components and they would know about overhaul schedules for the diff. I changed my diff oil today, it still looked pretty good, i've been doing every oil change but might switch to every other from today since i don't drift, just have fun once in awhile.

The oil I could see if your drifting it and putting alot of stress and heat on the differential but a overhaul every year sounds a little extreme unless you are tracking it and beating on it daily.

Idk, the cusco LSD may be designed to have to be overhauled yearly.

I've had a Cusco in my car for 2.5 years and have never overhauled it, nor have any of our customers. In fact, I've only changed the oil 2 times in the 40k miles or so it's been in the car.

Unless you are doing nothing but harcore drift or hardcore track (as in, it's a race car, not a street car), you have nothing to worry about, and the maintence schedule is nothing more than changing the oil at normal intervals

Oh yeah, if you use mobil one synthetic, put in some friction modifier. I put in i think some CRC stuff, small blue tube and it's like night and day smoother.
