Default Help with cam position sensor

Folks
On my wire harness the cam position sensor clip broke. I talked to the dealer today and they said they dont sell any single connectors. He checked his service dpt for a old harness lying around and couldnt find any. Michigan doesn't have many Z's at all so go figure. Does anybody have a slavage harness lying around that could clip off that piece for me please let me know.

I posted this here because I figured I'd have the best luck with the F/I folks since most of us have taken off the harness at some point.

Jon

Jon - I have a spare wiring harness available, but its a complete engine harness. If all else fails and you cannot either hardwire it in, or find what you need, let me know - while I know you don't need a full engine harness, it will still be boatloads cheaper than a new one from the dealer

Anyone have a spare one of these laying around?

My dumba$$ broke the green one on the drivers side last night.

Thanks,

George

It didn't break liar. every person who changes that bank kills that connector. It's because folk can't see how to release it and they rip the effer out. Folk ask which wires go where after they tore that $#!+ up. I almost did as well because I was so pissed a 10 minute sensor change turned into a two hour job.

It takes a 10mm wrench to take out the sensor. It's accessible. But the clustereff is on the underside of the clip. You merely have to slide it backward to release the clip. It's halfway on the underside of that clip. A fingernail releases it.

Everyone just ends up ripping the the thing off. It took me an hour actually because none of the DIYs just said the clip release is on the underside midway and you merely need to slide it backward. I took the sensor out and flipped it over while still attached to see how the clip worked.

I feel bad for all the folk who actually ripped that clip apart and frankly I was a few minutes away from doing that myself because none of the DIYs wrote about the clip holding that 60 dollar sensor in place.

The dealer wants several hundred dollars to replace one when it's really a 5 minute job when you know how to do it.

I was actually changing the valve covers when I broke the clip.

Got the other side off ok ...... Didn't even realize it was toast til putting it back on the sensor. I guess ur right my squeeze and wiggle technique only worked on 3 of the four cam sensors and all the coil clips.

Got 2 sent from a guy on here.... Didn't work. Ever so close.

Again, anyone have one of the green clips?!? I'm about to spend $350 on used harness. Sucky sucky long time.
