Burnt out Throw-out Bearing
So last October 2005 I installed my Turbonetics kit and had to change out the Tilton street clutch. I reinstalled the Rally pack I had because the Street pack isnt rated for the HP. I bought a new Throw-out bearing and got everything put back together and a year later the clutch just started slipping out of the blue. I was like wow guess I need a new clutch, so I decided to just swap the Tilton out for a ATS carbon-carbon package which will be arriving soon. Anyway I drop the tranny today and the Throw out bearing looks like it melted....the clutch had some glazing and heat spots on the pressure plate but plenty of life left..I dont want this to happen to the ATS...I had to slip the clutch because I get stuck in traffic in Hawaii. Anyone familiar with the ATS and how much it can be slipped? I did not have any wear issues with the Tilton street clutch when I initially swapped the Street for the rally and the Throw-out was fine...
