yea but then you have to find somewhere to take it, and osmething to raise the car up on. id rather pay someone 15 bucks and have them do it. ive been taking my cars to a mobil place for years and will continue taking my car there. it is a standalone mobil oil change and brake place.

Amsoil. That, Motul, and Elf are the only 3 true 100% synthetics available here, Elf being a newcomer this side of the Atlantic. But keep in mind that none of those 3 are available OTC while RP is, in case that matters to you. I get Ams from a local private dealer. Ams also ships via their site.

one time i took my CBR1000 to a local bike dealer because i didn't have a stand yet, and when i got it back it still had the same oil filter on it. I asked them about it and they tried to say it was a simple mistake. I took out the plug and it was still cruddy oil. If you do it yourself, you know you've done it right.

we run the motul full synthetic 5w-40 all year round in our shop cars here and temperatures go from one extreme to the other in atlanta. We have never had any complaints. In fact, most customers that have switched to it praise it.
We are also a motul dealer so PM if intersted.

problem with changing your oil isn't the using of the sockets .. its the disposing of the oil.. if you get caught dumping it in the wrong place you get a hefty fine.. and alot of oil places charge you to have them take your old oil..
i remember driving around on a saturday for 2 hours trying ot find some where to take the old oil.. some places wanted the price of an oil change to take the oil
