Trans fluid
I had the 6MT flushed and fluid change on the 30K service. When cold I have to force into first, second and third. Dealer said it is normal. I say it isn't. Also have a bit of grinding when getting it into second. Any help is appreciated

What fluid did they replace it with, the Nissan or another brand? I recently replaced the OEM fluid in my 6MT with Royal Purple. Unlike a lot of others here that have reported smoother shifting, I've noticed mine is now extremely hard to get into 1st and 2nd when cold. It's impossible to downshift from 2nd to 1st unless I come to a complete stop.
I'm guessing the reason some people report better shifting and others report worse is in the tolerances within the transmission. Different fluids of different viscosities behave slightly different in each transmission and that may be what we're seeing.

I assume they replaced it with the Nissan fluid. I asked for synthetic but they said none was available. I have always had a little difficulty shifting when cold but this is much worse. When I first bought the car I had some problems with cold shifting but it cleared up.

Also tranny fluid needs a little time to warm up. Don't recommend hard shifts after it sat overnight.BTW: Wired 24/7 I think you & I think alike. That or we do our research! LOL

Good luck!
Good luck! But you can run straight MT-90 with no issues... it's a little heavier than MTL which I like about it... it's really personal preference
Well it takes 3 and 1/8 quarts... It's best if you buy 4 quarts, better to have the right amount and have some extra rather than buy too little.
