Otherwise you end up with a equation that has a varbialbe for every factor.
I think any engineer who has tried to do computer modeling of complicated equations realizes this...

but Alberto is right, it's completely impractical...

Good luck trying to explain everything...

I see a major flaw already: hp gain claims are nowhere near 90% accurate!!

He said " Go with the advertized gains but remember they are the best modded compared to the worst baseline. So assume that they are 70-80% effective."

each vehicle and application.

Not every mod is about getting more and more horsepower. I certainly didn't buy a Popcharger thinking I'd get a claimed "6 rwhp" but rather I bought it for the nice sound and the POSSIBILITY for a little extra oomph, however tiny it may be.

Just my .02 cents

concerning altitude....

i heard a while back that power loss at altitude is roughly 10hp/1000' in elevation. i do know there is some loss. i've driven from Dallas to Buena Vista, CO at least once a year for the past 15 years in numerous vehicles and you can feel a substantial power loss with the thinner air.

anyone have any "real" knowledge about this?

I've heard of something similar to that 10hp/1000' elevation as well. I also know there is a rule about turbochargers becoming more affective at higher altitudes, i read that somewhere on howstuffworks.com i think.
