Possible Clutch Issue
I have a 2003 Z with 30,000 miles on it and lately I have been smelling a burning rubber smell. The tires seem fine so I think it may be a belt. I took the car to the dealer and they think its the clutch, but the car is shifting fine, but I can smell the clutch. This is my first manual automobile, so I have a couple questions...
-Is this under warranty?
-How long before the clutch needs to be changed?
-How much does Nissan usually charge for the labor and parts?
Thanks in advance!

But to answer your question's here we go:
1. No the clutch is not covered under warranty as its a "wear n tear" item.
2. The clutch life depends on the driver, if you peel out alot or launch your car then your wearing on the clutch more then usual. I have seen people with 60,000 miles on a Z with original clutch so they can last a while.
3. Unless you know or have a friend working for Nissan its upwards of $1,000 I guess it varies depending on where you live but here in Northern VA its
pretty damn pricy. Call your dealer and get a quote on parts and figure
its at least a few hours of labor.
Hope that helps!
