I've had the B&M for around 1 1/2 years now and it's been flawless. Very solidly made--no plastic parts like almost every other shifter I know of. It shortens the throw by 33%--not too much or too little, but keeps the shifter height the same. Shifting is like lock-loading a rifle--very solid with a firm but precise feel. It takes a while to get used to the notchier feel of a short shifter but you'll never go back to the vague, mushy and imprecise stock shifter.

The one problem with B&M shifters has been the metallic vibration at higher RPMs. This is due to the metal pivot housing--plastic in the stock shifter, the Rouge and others. But it's easy to totally eliminate the rattle. See my post made yesterday in this section. If you install it the way I indicated, you'll love it.

Well after about a month of no activity in this thread, I guess supra crazy gets absolutely zero credibility for his opinion.

well i do think its a nice Lil mod and not expensive compared to any other mods on the Z...
after you are used to the shifting with it and you get back onto a stock shifter you will realize your faster throws..and actually helps you realize you done need to "kun fu" shift too much when racing since the shorter throw compensates for it.
