Default LSD makes a big difference?

Well i just got the 06 base model. It has about 900 miles on it, and i love the car to death. But since my friends are rich, they just bag on me because i got the base model with includes no lsd. I was wondering if lsd makes that big of a difference. I know i can just add in lsd for about a grand, but im not a racer or nothing.

It does for dragracing, for everyday driving it doesnt. I have no lsd and i can launch pretty well without one, have to learn how to modulate the gas and slip the clutch right.

single best mod I did to date was a Cusco RS diff into my car - it is not only for drag racing by any means

Well you can do burnouts and not have to worry about the rear end hopping and destroying the lsd!

I'm in the same boat you are....no LSD and I've been hearin' it from people for the last 2 years, yet I still haven't swapped in one.

I'd say at least once a day I'm like...."damn I so wish I had a LSD." If you have a grand to throw into a mod, this should be your first.

- Tim (obviously doesn't have a grand that he wants to buy a limited slip with)

EDIT: I wouldn't tell them you don't need it....but tell them that you can get a better aftermarket one (ie Cusco) and HIDs for cheaper than it'd be to buy the Enthusiast model.

I tell ya I sure hate my current car w/ RWD without LSD...

Going into corners it is great but I cant accelerate out of a hard corner because my inner wheel lifts up a little and spins loosing all power to that freely spinning wheel...

Without the LSD constant power to the rear wheels may be lost, and you do notice it in corners... You cant push the car out of corners as well without an LSD as well...

100% of base owners claim this, less then 1% actually get it done.

I didn't mind it at first but after a few thousand miles, some botched drifting attempts, and bad wheel spin accelerating out of corners I'm going to put one in. Planning to drop in the OEM VLSD.

Hasn't bothered me at the drag strip, or on a road course.

I can tell a difference in the rain though.

I have driven many cars without LSD's, then folks get them installed (various makes/models) so I know what the feel from the difference.

And when I bought my 2004 BASE Z, I knew LSD was something I would want. Along with I didn't get the Enthusiast version since it was more, and had VLSD (I knew that with the power and abuse I was going to do a better clutch type would be needed for me over the viscous goo)...

So I felt I could do without the HID's, and cruise control along with saving some money with going with the BASE version.

Driving around town, not going to hard on the car you don't notice to much... But as I got comfortable with the car you begin to push and adapt. Though when I went to the drag strip for the first time really showed how much I liked to get on the throttle off the line and it is no good with only one wheel spinning.

Now there are those Z owners who can put down great times without LSD, but I like two wheels pushing than one if anything just for the fun factor lol.

So anywho, I love the LSD... I love doing big wide burnouts, and I like the way it takes the twisties too (still stock height, and sways).

I also think the LSD was my best mod for the car.

Completely agreed, closely followed by the turbo timer

Guess I fall into the 1%

BASE Version Z Owner with Cusco 1.5 Way 100% LSD, with GP Thunder 9500K HID's.

Two great mods, and also the HID was super easy to do

www.hid-lights.com (Place I ordered from, also VeeTec as well).

H7 is our low beam type.

LSD is definitely worth it when coming out of corners, you have much more control especially on a nice slide.
