look what i did that seemed to work good is; 500mi up to 3000 rpm, up to 700mi at 4000 rpm, up to 1000+ at 5000+ rpm. i've had no prob
That's about what I did. I went to 500 w/4k limit and bumped up 500 rpm every 100 miles from there to get to 7k at 1200 miles. I made sure to hit whatever my limit was for a given mileage frequently. I have no idea if this way made any difference whatsoever, but I do have an '06 without oil consumption problems. Not sure how widespread that issue is for us '06 guys, and again, not claiming my break-in is a factor, but I can't say it isn't either.
I'm old school. I broke it in like your going to drive. That's what all the old timers told me growing up. But I wouldn't to that with a turbo upgrade.
Reading the owners manual is much too simple. Probably written by a bunch of MIT graduates with only 10 or 20 years of automotive engineering experience. What the hell do they know.
