I searched so flame away, Governor issues.

*to the OP, when you hit those speeds, does the Z feel stable? I remember reading someone from Germany saying that his Z didn't feel too safe at 155 mph...maybe think about some aero parts to keep it a bit safer. (I went 165MPH in a Prosche C4 eairler this year in Germany - felt super smoothe! Thye have all sorts of aero stuff)

(And I bet there was a lot of $$ put down by AAM and TS to developed/buy the technology to be able to reflash, add that with a fairly small crowd of ppl getting reflashes, the cost doesn't seem high [even though I'd always want it cheaper!!])

The question isn't if the Z is safe at 155+, the issue is that just about every paved road in north america isn't really safe for just about any vehicle traveling that fast. Compared to the Autobahn, American roads suck.
However, in regards as to why anyone would want the limiter removed. I would gather it's for the same reason we buy cars that can go fast. It isn't that most of us will drive the car to the limit, but knowing that it could if we wanted. I would suppose that could be a reason for removing the limiter. An extremely small percentage of drivers would go that fast, but the option is there.

...ever since my trip to Germany, I've been trying to think of ways to move there.

Good to hear that - I've only had my Z up to 135 and it felt safe...not sure if I'd risk anything faster than that with so many cops in my area, but it's always so tempting.
*Before the Z, I had a turbo'd miata - above 100 the thing felt like it could get blow off the road by a gust of wind
