Default I searched so flame away, Governor issues.

I just want to know if there is a way to remove the governor myself or if there is something I can buy to do it. OK, thanks, Later.

It's officially and commonly called a speed limiter or a fuel cutoff. Search that.

http://alteredatmosphere.com also can do a reflash that removes the speed limiter.

Thanks, I really didn't even think of that.

Both the rev limiter and the speed limiter are computer controlled, so you can't just 'remove' them. A reflash or piggyback is needed. My UTEC has raised my rev limiter and eliminated my speed limiter.

I travel a lot, and on some trips those open roads though Texas, New Mexico, or Arizona would be a lot of fun to see what it can really do.

I'm not suggesting you don't have fun, just be careful at that speed on open public roads. Open being the key word here... blown sand across the road, critters deciding to scurry across at the last second, gust of wind, blow a tire on an object you didn't forsee being there, or just blow a tire period and slide off the road then flip a few times once you catch soft ground, unprotected by track/gard rails. Anyway, just a few thoughts, especially since you seem to want to do this often.

I believe this is the link to the JUN 350z when it blows a back tire at 200, its brutal...

Thanks for the concern. I know I have a problem with speed. These things come across my mind at times. At least the Z is fairly safe in comparison to a civic or whatever. Some room for error. Once again, thanks for the concern though.

LOL, I think every post I ever have done with a question about anything someone has told me to search. And in a really irritating way.

That can't be. Not on this forum. I'm sure you are just paranoid.

To the OP: UTEC somehow "avoids" the speed limiter, I would guess because it provides the fuel etc, so the ECU is most likely saying "cut fuel" and the UTEC could care less. I do know that since installing the UTEC the tire pressure sensor warning does not appear anymore when I have not registered the TPS on the current set of wheels. That is what I find odd.

My tire pressure sensors work fine. They damn TPS light has came on at least three times since I've installed my UTEC.

Mine always worked right. But I have two sets of wheels and tires, and when I would switch them of course I would get the warning after driving a bit, until I took them to my buddies shop and had them registered. After the UTEC, the warning never appears. You have the opposite issue. WTF?

Well, with the cold weather my tire pressure has been low! I would make sure they were registered correctly.

Last time I looked it was gone also. But if I remember right, it was around $500 or a little less.

Does anyone else here think it's a total waste of $500 JUST to remove a safety feature which will not hinder spirited driving 99.999% of the time? I could understand it if it was done as part of a reflash aimed at improving performance. Hey, it's your money, spend it as you wish.
