TS style Hood
Guys...i have a g35 coupe ( i know, wtf am i doin here), but needed ya'lls help to see a pic of under the hood of a Seibon TS style Carbon Fiber hood. The one's made for G's are lucked out cause we dont have rain guards and since i just brought one for my car, i dont want my supercharger and engine bay getting soaked with water that could potentially damage the engine or worse the supercharger. I need to see pics of under the hood to see how this rain guard looks and if possible a pic of just the rain guards and how they stay on if they are removable...thank you in advance to everyone on my350z.com
how would the water damage the engine or supercharger?
when the engine is running and the car is moving, any drips that get on the engine will likely vaporize pretty quickly. The vents angle backwards, so if the car is moving at a decent speed, the water will not roll down the hood into the vents
it's not the same as dumping a bucket of water on the engine. The only thing that'll make way down the vents are little drips. Even so, all modern engines generally are reasonably water resistent with all wiring covered etc.
Now if you parked and it started just raining like crazy then I dunno. I'd still attempt driving it, but that's why I check out the 10 day forcast on weather.com and not drive on rainy days - what fun is driving in a fast car if you can't drive fast in the rain anyway?
