Default Neutrailsation of Vmax restrictions

Hi guys...
My track is a 2006 roadster Z, level2, european car... Max speed is limited to 250km/h.
Today a friend of mine told me about a kind of ballast which deletes max speed restriction, and adds a nice amount of "hidden" hp to the car. (I've made a search, couldn't find anything...). I mean:
Having he tried this ballast on his previous seat leon 1.9tdi, he explained me that this ballast bypasses the original one(s), which does not let driver use all hp when driving to low gears.
In other words, original ballast(s) should work something like this:
1st gear: no more than 60% of 300hp
2nd gear: no more than 70% of 300hp
and so on (this was just an example) until 100% hp in 6th gear...

I don't really believe it, however this ballast is available in internet, but they don't explain the way it works, it's only said to enhanche performances (20% more torque and hps); to find it:

search STEINBAUER (take a look, our car is listed)

It costs something like 1.247euros, which is really really really a lot....

Does anybody know something about this? Please check and let me know...
If it really works this way, are there cheaper ballasts, which work the same, available?

(sry 4 my bad english, i'm italian, hope u understand what i write...)

I don't know about the 60% and 70% of the power usage thing, but the speed limiter can be remove with a reflash, whish is pretty much what that thing looks like.

BTW you had me all confused about the ballast thing. Ballast are thing that you put in something (in this case a car) to add weight.

He's refering to ballast in an electrical sense.
There is no gear limited restriction on the Z's. You friend is very misinformed.

There are reflashes available to remove the speed limiter that 'try' to enhance the performance. However w/ a realitivly stock vehicle, the gains you would see would be miniscule. No way in hell 20%. For them to even advertise such false claims speaks to their credibility.

for a reflash, I haven't heard of any companies in Europe that do them for the Z...you could contact Altered_Atmosphere or TS and send them your ECU to be reflashed to remove the top speed limiter, increase your redline, and tune the ECU to whatever mods you have. Altered Atmosphere's reflahse cost around $600 USD

It must be nice driving the Z in Italy - I was there a few months ago and didn't see any at all...

Thanx for the link...
Lol, it is... Everybody looks my z, and almost nobody knows its specs... Sometimes one ask: "nice, what is this, a 1600cc? 1800?" Lol, imagine their faces when i reply... In italy about 80% af all cars do not exceed 2000 centimeters cubes... And 50% of new cars is sold with diesel engines...
To give u an idea about the Z in Italy: here a 350z lev2 cost the same as a porshe boxster... That is, about 47000euros. (if i don't get wrong: 1euro=1,2$ +or- )
I live in a small city, little more than 60000 inhabitants, and i know for sure there are only 2 z's... One is a black 2005 coupe, the other one is my 2006z roadster... as long as a month ago there was another 2006 roadster z, just dark gray as mine, same rims, and on saturday night it went crashed in a big accident right out from a big discotheque here in mantova...
Lol, that night i recieved about 30 phone calls, a lot of friends and workmates (i'm a policeman) thought it was me...

By the way, if anyone needs any kind of info about italy or european Z or whatever, feel free to aks!

Bye
