Did you buy the car new? If it was used, do you know all the history behind it?

I brought it used 04 the gentlemen that own it had many other cars and didnt drive this one at all, it was in a garage for almost a year not moved. I brought it in Jan 06 and its been babied, no track, no drag, just alittle fun every once in a while. But in no means is it driven hard.

I have all the history on the car, the guy owns a DB9 and some very nice porches. And he is very clean and caring with cars. So I know and have the proof I brought a great car from him

People over react but in this case u have to Identify were it came from. If I could hold them in my hand I could narrow it down.
U need to find someone that isnt full of **** and trying to prove something that knows the inside of the Z Motor.

Fact is, There just arent that many places it can come from once u determain the type of metal --- Its a simple puzzle for someone that knows machines and can see it first hand.

U need peace of mind

Taytay, try calling Danzio Performance in Lake Elsinore. See if you can swing it by there. They've built a few VQ35s now and should be able to tell you what it is...

No worries bro... Chris Muzio over there should be able to tell you exactly what it is. If he can't I would start worrying then..

I'm just going to throw something out, may be some one can put their in this but it is not meant to be a anwser to this, just something to add to the mistery.

By comparing the material with the "CTRL" key of the keyboard in the first pic, I will say that this is pretty thin material and they have a groove on them. The groove in them is what bugs me. Remind me of the oil journal of a rod/main bearing. I seen what a spun bearing looks like if its driven for a while. It gets stretch out and thin like this. This is not a sure thing just something that reminded me of my Honda days.

If this is the case, it doesn't mean it came from your current motor. Do you have the car full history report like the one you get at the dealer that tells you everything that cars has been worked on (at least I get this every time I take my car in for service)?

Im going to find a local opinion, but Im hoping its just from when the car was first made and driven. This is the first time the pan has been opened since it was made

Thats exactly what i was thinking i got used a normal oil after building my angin and doing the port and polish for 200 km and then changed it and it had a lot of iron shavings but too small u will hardlu notice but i was thinking maybe thats what it is and if the car is runbning and its fine and no heat or big oil loosing is happening then u should be good...

these shavings where all stuck in the neck in front of the mesh to stop this stuff from getting sucked up in to the pump.

So who knows how long they have been there. And for the TN tap I only tap the sender unit, not the upper pan, Im using a AAM spacer, so its not from that. Im also not finished with my install

I have to agree here with Mr.X, that groove buds the hell outa me. Have a dealer run your vin. this should give you any dealer maint./warranty service history. Those grooves are very questionable. You might even slip into the nissan shop and ask a good nissan tech if he recognizes them.
