Default WTF is this ????

I finishing up my Tn kit and Im clean the last bit of oil off the pan with the old sealant. In front of the screen in the oil pump neck there is this stuff. Looks like a cut up coke can in really small pieces.

WHAT IS IT DOING THERE ?

He replaced the original links in the first post with the new pics. If I had any idea what those little metal shavings are I would have said something.

Don't know exactly what it is, but if I found that in my oil pan I would be personally very nervous to say the least.

Does the TN kit require you to do any tapping of the block for oil? Those look like some sort of metal shavings from using a drill.

Yes, u bore a hole in the upper oil pan but if Im not mistaken , those appear to be steel shavings, not aluminum. First pics I thought they looked like brg. babbit but no so much with the second picks. Are they aluminum or steel ??? How many miles u have on the engine ??? Is this the first time the pan has been off ??? The TN Kit is a new addition ????

Wow that doesn't look very promising... I can't possibly believe those are from tapping the oil pan. Theres no way the shavings are that big... Is it definitely metal? You said these were in the screen for the oil pick up?
