Default 06.5

I have an 06.5 silverstone 6mt, jwt pop charger, mrev2 collector and spacer.
just hit 6300 miles, noticed i was at the L, added a quart, brought it up about halfway. I'm going to be taking it to the dealership later on this week when i can get some time off from work.

i have a 72 datsun 240z and a 94 infiniti g20 that i have to worry about burning oil and leaking powersteering... i shouldnt have to be worrying about a 30 thousand dollar car with 6 thousand miles on it.

I have an 06mt with about 2000 miles. It seems to be using a small amount of oil. One thing that worries me about an engine change is, what other damage will the shop do to the car while the engine is being swapped, scratches, transmission, etc? Has anyone had other damage during the swap?

Does that mean from H to L on the stick is 2 qts instead of 1 qt?

05 6MT G35 Coupe..blown engine...didnt smoke....due to no oil...oil changed 1400 miles prior. When oil was changed only 2 quarts left at 4500 miles.

New engine replaced 4 weeks ago....noticeable less power (i believe a reflash) with the new long block, and the oil is still half a quart low at 1700 miles on the new engine.

I absoultely love my G. but downtime isnt an option...seeking a buy back from Infiniti or Lemon Law BBB like BOFA did...

Thanks all for your words and input...but for 650 a month I am not getting my suit dirty while driving to work just to check the freaking oil....
FYI my 2001 Mustang GT that saw redline 6-10 times a day never burned more than a few table spoons!

40K for this headache.......I'll pass and by a Electrical Nightmare LR2 before I go through a 3rd engine.....

ENGINE SWAP FIXED THE OIL FIXATION ISSUE.

New engine now has 4900 miles (ruffly) and not a drop...I am not running sythetic due to I noticed more consumption after I switched.

Glad to have the ride working, but the thrill is gone away....sucks I have a 40K boat ancher....I drive my wifes Jetta GLI more now...this was such a disapointing experience.

I had my engine swap and I had the same concern about scratches and dents. No issues at all and the dealership did a fantastic job! We did the walk around just like you do when you pickup your rental. Had to drive a altima for the day but over all I am pleased. I think this new engine resolved a few problems. No more intermittent pinging upon acceleration and the ticking noise fromt the lifter is gone.

Take time to read all the threads on this, however you take your car to the dealer and tell them you need one done. They check the oil and document the level every 1000 miles.

went to the dealer and did the oil consumption test. after 1000 miles, my engine is a 1 quart less confirming oil consumption issue. i only have 10900 on my engine. dealer said i have to do 2 more test to confirm issue. i only have a pop charger and exhaust upgrade.

i notice though, after changing and refilling oil, i check the level and it seems that they overfilled it. the oil level was like 1/4 inch to 1/2 above the H level. i spoke with my service advisor regarding the finding but it was already too late for me to go back to the dealer. he told me to come back on monday so he could check it himself.

the only thing is, i feel like im getting screwed. i thinking they intended to overfill it so that when i come back after 1000 miles, the level will still be between the L and H or at least on normal level. hopefully not but thats how i feel. im thinking after the 3 test on this dealer and if they say i don't have an oil consumption issue, ill go to different a dealer to redo the test.

any advice, suggestion, comments?
