I took my new 06 6MT out for driving today and noticed that the 1st gear makes whining noise above 3-4k rpm. This noise sounds like coming from the tranny.
It seems like only sound I can hear in other gears is from the engine and the exhaust.
Is this normal?

BTW car drives much more smooth after odometer hitting 400miles.

probably because 1st gear isnt a driving gear. When I shift from 1st gear under normal everyday driving conditions I shift at around 10mph.
