wondering what's the best LSD for under $1,000. i've done varoius searches but everyone's saying theirs is the best: Quaife, NISMO, Kaaz, Cusco, etc.

 

For under $1000? Nismo, because it already includes all the parts necessary to rebuild your pumpkin. Quaife is a drop-in but is well over $1000, as is the ATS. Any of the other sub-$1000 options would require you to source axle stubs from a VLSD equipped pumpkin as well as the side bearings, portentially making it a more expensive proposition.

So even if its not the "best" differential you can get. Its the one I think is most appropriately suited for your budget and situation. Also, just about any Nissan dealer can source and install the Nismo LSD for you. That should be just over $1000 with install.
