Default AT to 6sp swap anyone interested???

I have a AT and I hate it I was wondering if it was a pain in the rear end to do a tranny swap? Also if anyone wants to swap their stick for an auto let me know. And last but not least how much would this cost to do approx??? Thanks in advance for your help.

You'd be better off selling your car and buying a 6MT 350Z.

Its a B'otch to change ofver from AT to MT.

Post details about your car in case anyone is considering swapping for an AT. If you have something tempting like nav or aftermarket wheels/tires, you may get some interest.

Pretty Much any Car with an ECU is an enourmous pain to swap the transmission on.

Short answer, not worth it. I had a 5AT and wanted to swap it to 6MT. It was going to run about 5K. I traded for a 6MT instead, better to do that. If you decide to do it, it will be a biotch!

I'm sure a swap won't be as reliable either.

a swap would also depreciate the car's value +1 on trade for 6mt

The annoying part is that you have to pay tax again on a car swap...

it costs around 5k to do it and dealerships won't take your car when u want to sell, i think you're better off trading in or selling it and buy a used or new z with dealership warranty

Someone would have to smoke a lot of bad weed to attempt this.

It is possible, a few have done it, and yes it is very expensive. If your car is still fairly stock a trade in may be your best option.

5k if you have all new parts and have someone else do it... you can get this done rather cheaply actually... you can get a 6 speed 350z tranny with 30-60k miles on it for about 750 bucks... and then you get the other stuff which racks up to about another 1500 or so... the good thing is that a manual transmission doesnt need new wiring... you can just splice your old wiring harness to delete the uneccessary connections and bam... 6 speed... lotta work... but oh well... if it is a hobby then take on the project... just realize that once you start... you will probably be without a car for at least 2 weeks or longer

MT car and AT cars don't have the same ECU. If you swap an AT for an MT, I'm sure you're gonna have to swap ECUs too.

AT and MT Maxima's had different ECUs too, at least on those cars if you swapped transmissions without switching ECU, all you got was a CEL.
