By the way, from my (rough) calculations, it seems the extra thrust from 2500-7500rpm is roughly equivalent to giving the old 7000rpm VQ35DE an extra 17lb-ft. Interesting.

hey hyrda can a brotha man get a image if what your doing. Cause ur exhaust efforts are holding me back from purchasing one lmao. Remember i want 300rwhp so i want the best damn exhaust for the price possible. Because i only been impressed with fast in,APS, and Borla to tell u the truth as far as dynos are concerned. HKS nismo have all had from my expirence not lived up the the hp numbers . But sound hella great. And then there is the almighty amuse which, ...is so expensive i would have to give a rib . lmao . Any ideas or info so far.

RB,

The stuff I am working on right now is not picture friendly. Its a mix of mild steel, aluminized J bends choped up and tig welded.

Very much in the prototype stage but very functional.

In fact, I'm still not done in the search for power and torque. I have a lot of ideas to test. And some of these will be very different in nature.

If these new ideas pan out as hoped, I will need to get the patent process started before I can post pics of any of them.

My goal with the system is to produce the highest level of HP and TQ of any other exhaust currently on the market. It won't be released untill that goal is proved on the dyno in house.
Then it will have to be independantly tested against the other "best" contenders.

cool man, thanks for the R&D. I was looking at a aps 2.5 ex mated to 2.5 aps test pipes for in my view wouldve been a nice setup. But im gonna have to pause to see what comes out of this damn, almost everything i have to put on hold because there are so many goodies that are being r&d now lmao.

So when the VQ3.7 comes out next year what are your plans for us 3.5 owners who dont have the HR? Maybe getting the 3.7 rods and headers and installing it on our cars with or with out the revup?

I wouldn't want to speculate on anything like that until it comes out.

too bad us <2007 owners did not wait longer before buying our z's...but who would have thought 4 years later the engine would be that much better.

good to see this kind of development though for z enthusiasts

I'm surprised how Nissan goes through so many engine designs so quickly.

On one hand it can be called progress, but changing through engine designs this quickly almost looks like they aren't really sure of their work. The REVUP was only out for 2 years before it was nixed.

If they comes out with a 3.7L Z in 2008, that will make the 2007 3.5L HR a one year engine design!

Are they confident in what are they doing? Or is this some part of a brilliant marketing strategy? IDK

Nissan is no worse than Mistu. Just look at the EVO...the 8 was out for 3 years, then only 1 year of the 9 before moving on to the X.

Unless they decide to use the HR and make it fwd for the Maxima, and Murano? Does any one know what The M35 and FX35 get? I know they could not get the rev-up as they were autos and they don't have the HR. Maybe those cars will get the HR motor unless they get the 3.7? Maybe the 3.5HR was test engine for the 3.7HR in the newer cars or for the 3.7HR TT Skyline GT-R? But yeah their progress is quick in the past 4 years, even though they have been on the Wards engine list every year since the introduction of it.

can u possible give us an idea on how it will look, will the muffler(s) be in the stock location, or will it be the traditional muffler right at the end of the exhaust, kinda like the jic single?

also when do expect to start selling it?

The design is still in flux so I'm not able to answer your question for now. Sorry for the non answer. I'll post the details when development allows. There is still a lot of testing and manufacturing logistics to work on.

Hahahaha! You got me peged.
At least that is what I was doing at the start. It was fun.
After sucking down a tank of gas on the dyno I had to get her filled up at the local Shell station. Boy that was a blast, but it was also a paranoia trip too. It was so loud it would have been an instant ticket if a cop happened to be anywhere around.

But I have since installed mufflers with no loss of power. Whew!
