Question about short throw shifters
What exactly do they do? I understand they shorten the throw while shifting but is it a good investment? Any gains or advantages in racing?

agreed.
i really wanted to get a shorter throw in my Z, but found that changing to a nismo **** just felt better. im wondering if what you are experiencing is just an uncomfortable shift ****.
if you are going to drop money into something that MIGHT improve ur perfomance by maybe .001 seconds, why not drop the same money into something like a popcharger or plenum spacer. both seem to be only a little extra money, and have CHARTED hp gains.

i just recently installed the nismo adjustable short shifter and honestly, i'm not going to say i dont like it but i will admit it was $197 that could have been spent on something better. However it is fun to play with and to notice how completely different the feel of the shifts are when adjusted to different levels.
