Elected New Pope, White Smoke, Greddy Died….
So I started my car two weeks ago and a big cloud of white smoke came out the back…So I took my car to the guys at Corner 3 and it is confirmed the rings are shot. At 140K miles on the block and 110K on the Greddy Kit the car had finally given up the ghost. I was running stock internal and 5.6psi boost, the standard for the kit.
I spent about a week considering the options, new Z, old Z, Cayman, Evo and about a dozen other cars, and that fact is that under 50K, there really wasn’t anything that moved me to spend the money. One big consideration is that my car will have to pass California SMOG in 2009 so I only have about 2 years to drive the car before I have to buy something new. I really want to wait for the GTR, new M3, new EVO and a few other cars coming out over the next few years.
So what is a guy to do…spend way to much money on a new forged internals long block and go for 500 RWHP . The new block will be ready in about 3 weeks (SGP Racing) and shipped to Corner 3 will need about 30 days to install and tune the engine. In addition to the block we are upgrading the injectors (650cc), the fuel return system, oil cooler and radiator.
I will send pics when the new engine arrives….
