Default Trans Question

OK.. heres the deal.. just got the car back from my local nissan dealer with a brand new trans. I have an 03 and had the classic syncro problem.. any way so i get the car back and could not shift into 5th or 6th gear.. I finally figured out that 5th and 6th work fine i just had to move the shifter to the left about 1/4 of an inch..so the problem is that if i shift hard from 4th to 5th i cant just shift hard right and ride the side of the shift gate into 5th..its kind of a pain in the ***.. i took it back to the dealer and they said this is normal because it is a different kind of trans..any ideas??

thanks guys

I don't know if that is normal but I wouldn't accept it. Unless it says somewhere in my owners manual that I have to adjust to go into a gear I would take it back. I'm getting mine swapped out next week so I'll chime back with this thread to let you know how it turns out.

yea i dont think its normal.. but the new trans if def much nicer and smoother.. it only took me about 3 months and about 15 dealerships to get the work done because none of them would do the work because my car was too low to fit on the lift.. anyway hope you enjoy your news trans. cheers

You may just have to adjust the shifter plate...

+1 shifter plate needs to be adjusted, they can do it or you can do it your self:
