quaife lsd, is there a difference in MT and AT?
I'm looking at a used quaife lsd. The part number is 44.309.180. This part number is for a AT but i have a MT. Is there a difference between the AT and MT. If so, what is it and is there anyways i can convert it for me to use for my MT?

i just checked out the information i have in the catalog
part # 44.309.180 - Nissan 350z
part # 180.06K - Spacer Kit for 350z M/T
so it appears there is nothing else needed for the Quaife to be installed in an A/T 350z but for the manual transmission 350z you must add that 2nd part # listed

I think Quaife corrected the MT version so that it doesn't need the spacer kit anymore.
But anyways to the OP, if you want to use that AT Quaife, you will need the spacer kit from quaife so that the diff will connect up to the ring gear. Also if you now have a factory VLSD you will need to get the stub axles from an open diff. And while you're at it get yourself two new side oil seals and two new side bearings/races for the install.

It was my understanding that quaife retooled the differentials within the first year of production to offer two models, one for the AT, one for MT. When they were originally released, they offered only one model, and a spacer kit to fit for other models. I am not sure they still make the spacer. I would strongly suggest calling quaife america before purchasing the AT differential to see if you can still get the spacer.
with an open differential, you do not have to buy new stubs.
The seals and bearings can optionally be replaced depending on the wear/mileage of your differential. I would replace at least the seals to be safe and depending on how your bearings inspect/mileage replace those too.
