Default HELP me choose a gearbox!

I posted this question on 'Professional analysis of our 6MT' but got no answers so I'll try my luck here.

I need help/advice. I have an 03 Z Coupe and an 05 ZR. I'm selling the ZR and turning the 03 into a circuit/track car and I am contemplating swapping the gearboxes.

The 03 gearbox shifts very smoothly and the 05 box sometimes grinds going into 2nd and sometimes has trouble getting into 1st from a standstill. Both cars have done 26,000 kms

My question is would you take the 03 or 05 box keeping in mind the 05 had revisions like double and triple syncros?

Am I right in assuming that the newer gearbox which has all the upgraded revisions should be stronger and potentially give me less problems even though it doesn't feel as smooth.

Thanks.

Hmm...tough call. Why not just use the cash from the sale of the car to get a nice sequential tranny??

Get the GTO tranny. I know they sell kits to mount it to the Z. That would rock ***!

I've already spent way too much on engine build, suspension, BBK, wheels, etc, etc. So at the moment, don't really want to spend any extra money on a gearbox.

I think its performance nissan in NY that sells them. They have hte worlds fastest Z.
And a properly done T56 tranny would cost the same as a new OEM tranny installed, yet would last the life of the car and give you customizable gear ratios, if you got the monies. But if you have a full engine build, why not do the full tranny swap from holden? Itll help you put the power down much more efficiently.

Ok so I know what the ideal solution is if cash wasn't an issue.

But what I want to know is between the 2 gearboxes, which one would you take?

I would like to try putting a T56 in my Z. I know an Auto would be better for my times but I want to stay w/ a stick.

Anyone know anyone who has done a T56?

here it is:

http://www.rossmachineracing.com/vq35transadapt.html

thinking about it, wouldn't it be a pain to tune a 3 speed auto with no manual shift mode?
