so i recently went to a nissan dealership and i told them about my transmission issue and how it grinds 3rd, and 5th when you downshift.....typical 03 tranny issue. they said they need paperwork from the 30,000 mile check of tranny but i cant get those since i purchased the car used from a guy in louisiana and im in nj. i got information on calling 1800 nissan1 so i did and i filed a complaint. i got a call the next day from this lady and she gave me some b*ll**** that it true they cant cover this due to failure to present the 30,000 mile tranny check. i cursed her out tons of names and told her whats the difference if the guy went to nissan, or did it himself....it doesnt take a brain surgeon to loosen a bolt and drain fluid. i didnt wana hear her anymore so i told her to go f*ck herself and hung up. Now i dont know what to do because i need to get a new tranny....any help would be GRATEFULLY appreciated.

Sounds like you're screwed. You can take it to another dealer, but he's going to have to contact Nissan to get authorization to do anything. Obviously, there's no service history in the system for the car so they're going to ask for it again.
That's the reason you see a lot of people posting messages about making sure they have receipts for oil changes, etc. If you do have a problem, the first thing Nissan looks at is "has it been maintained" properly.
Yeah, it's not hard to remove a plug and drain and refill the trans, but do you really know what to look for when inspecting the old fluid? What if the previous owner used a GL-5 trans fluid instead of the GL-4 that Nissan required. That would damage the trans and definitely void any warranty. That one of the reasons why they want to see receipts or paperwork.
Did you contact the guy you bought it from and see if he has them or knows if it was done at his local dealer? If so, you can contact that dealer to get their records on the car. Just a though.

Since all the calls are monitored and recorded hopefully you didn't use any words that could be comsidered a terroristic threat.
All services and checks are recorded in the Nissan computer, they ask you for paper work in case you had it done somewhere else besides a dealer.
Buying any used car without full documentation leaves you totally exposed.

In or out of warranty, Nissan is still going to insist on maintenance records. They're not too keen on just giving out a new transmission.
With all the privacy laws, it's probably impossible to get Nissan to release that info to you. Their computer system surely has records of ownership from when the car was first purchased at a dealer.

Looking around the Web, you'll find a similar situation where a 19k 2003 G35 was was purchased and no oil change records in Nissan computer needs a new engine..............yet not a single record of any service.
People don't do required mainteance, have a problem, get rejected for warranty, and ebay/auction/repo/private sell the vehicle to some sucker.
Once you are legal owner Nissan/Infiniti will print out all service data they have. It is a problem without a friend at dealership to get it before you own the car.
