Default way to break-in a car

has anybody heard of this so called new way to break-in a car?
they say the way the owner's manual say to break-in the car is completely wrong and it is actually better for us to run it like we stole it from the start?
if this is true, good news.
when i get my z.. oh yall already know..

The title should read: "Ways to break-in motor"

This thread was the last thing people needed to see, after the thread on the guy getting his Z stolen.

Yes, we HAVE discussed that guy's method in the past. So has Automobile magazine. <Hint: They didn't agree with him>

So i just hit 1.4k on my 07. I babbied it till about 500-600miles than started hitting 5.5-6k than around 800 decided to drive it like its going to be driven. I think his methods have a point to them. But either way I dont think hitting redline a couple of times before is going to make ur car implode. Just dont do it before the car is properly warmed up, and dont do it every shift and you will be fine.

Drive it like you stole it!! Besides....the car has a warranty on it. If your car doesnt stay together from the beginning then it means you have a crappy car.

Just kiddin!!! allow it to break in first then try to break you car. That way the dealership can replace the weak parts that didnt last long from the get go.
