Default oil

I was wondering what kind of oil is everybody using for the ones that change there own oil. I only have 800 miles so I have a long time before I change the oil. I'm a honda tech so I will do it my self, I'm debating if I should go synthetic? what do you guys think.

I had the factory oil replaced with regular oil at 1200 miles in order to flush the system of break-in contaminants. At 3000 miles, I switched to Mobil 1 5W-30. It made a very noticeable difference in the morning (cold engine). The engine runs quieter and smoother right after start-up than with regular oil. Fuel economy also improved by 1-2MPG. I highly recommend going synthetic. I look at it as a way to get the most out of my car.

I did the same exact thing.... Dumped my regular oil at 1200 and changed it and the filter with regular oil... Then I switched to Mobil 1 at 3500 miles and I change it every 3000 miles.......

ditto to j's350z, except that I am about to do my second change (at 2500 miles) to AMSOil 5W-30

Why?
The manual specifically states that 5w30 is preferred for all climates...

just changed mine on monday used royal purple 10w30, and just dropped in a k&n. The butt-o-meter feels a difference and my gas mileage is better.

MOBIL 1 5-30 every 1,000 miles for the first 5,000. All my Friends who are BMW Mechanics do this, so I think they know what to do. Might be over kill but better safe than sorry.
