I am starting to research Lemon Laws. Anyone know a good lemon law lawyer?

 

this has happened to me before on my 05. just stomp the clutch a few times and it gets back up. has only happened once.

ah crap, this is the kind of stuff I hate to read, because I tend to get an 07 Z later this year.

 

I haven't had any kind of issue like this yet..I tried 3-4 times last night to produce this problem with no success... So far, (knock on wood) my 07 has been flawless

 

You probably should have broke your car in before trying to push it.

 

you need to give them a couple of more chances to fix the same problem within 30 days first.

I am still trying...Up to 650 miles now and not a single issue. My '07 has also been flawless....and from all the highway cruising and how 6th gear feels....I can't wait until I can REALLY get on this car

Mine did, does the same thing under full power at times.

Sounds like a clutch master/slave issue and not tranny related. For them to suggest the tranny first is suspicious. I haven't changed teh clutch on mine yet, but if the slave is mounted on the input shaft like some newer car, it is likely the fluid is boiling when it gets hot. Flush the clutch fluid with some high temp brake fluid, and I bet your problems go away. Any shop should be able to do this.

Edit: I just checked the nissan fsm for the 350z, and it uses a conventional slave. I still would check it and replace the fluid, and not even bother with the dealership, or at least take it to a different one.

 

My clutch feels sticky even while standstill. If I let it go quick, it releases slow as if it's doing the same then in freezing temps (it's really in the 70s). My timing's erratic and rough because of it.

I'm also trying to figure out why I'm randomly grinding 2nd-5th (stuck getting in gear and grinds). I drive other MT cars without grinding (even on an M3!), and I've had my Z for almost 5 years. The first 2 years I never grinded at all unless I totally screw up and not use the clutch. Then it went downhill from there until the tranny got replaced last year, but there was no change to the clutch pedal.

I think my tranny is fine, but it's gotta be the clutch actuator or some sort that's been giving me grief for years.

 

The clutch pedal in my '06 gets kind of a spongy feeling when it is raining out (especially if it is cold rain) and seems to take longer to spring away from the floor, but I've never had the pedal actuall stick on the floor. I thought it happened to me in my girlfriend's Civic but it turned out that when I pressed the clutch pedal in my heel caught the edge of the floormat and pulled it forward between my foot and the pedal, so that when I took my foot off the weight of the floor mat kept the pedal pushed in. Point of the story, is that's some scary ****.

 

Just got back from performance Nissan for a second opinion. The tech was boggled about it too. He flushed the fluids jsut to see if it helped. It did not help. He said best bet is to let the Nissan rep tomorrow look at it and see whats goin on. Wish me luck tomorrow.

 

Well, look on the bright side. You got the coveted HR motor at least! ;-)

 

Lets not start a Panic cloud on the 07s, 1 car 1 person so far. Until I see a recall, I'm not going to worry about it, get mine in a couple weeks, so trying to be 'positive' good luck with yours, hopefully its just a rotten apple and not the whole bushel.

 

This should be an easy problem to fix. Sounds like they are not even trying.
