I symphathize with your plight. I happened on this thread and tried to reproduce but couldn't with my 07. Clutch is a dream compared to my previous 03. Only one foot is needed to depress the clutch. I have ran it almost 4,000 miles and no complaints other than the gas mileage which isn't as good as the 03. So far I've run 3 autocrosses and a track day besides driving to work 60 miles a day.

I havnt completed break in yet but I have noticed this happen in my 07 Enth as well. Clutch would be a bit hesitant to come back up when switching gears. I'm noticing it less as I get more miles on it so hopefully its just cause its not broken in yet.

Yeah, watch for a slight less amount of pressure as you push in as well. Do some normal accelerations from 65-75 like you are passing someone in 6th. Just regular passing not crazy ****. Do it a couple times and see if there is slightly less preasure on the clutch. If so, this is the beginning.

^^I've been trying to replicate that on my '07 (got it last friday) but so far i couldn't pull it off. I put in about 250miles on my '07 enthusiast , so it's still too early too tell. My clutch feels so smooth and it engaged flawlessly compare to my '06.

I'm having the same issue with my 07. I currently have 4400 miles. The clutch isn't sticking all the way to the floor, but it only comes up to what I call the "engagement" point. I have to pull it the rest of the way with my foot.

It does NOT seem to be related to high temperature, as I see the issue when first getting in the car. I can pump the clutch several times and the issue seems to go away for a time, but returns in less than 30 minutes best I can tell.

I've taken it to the dealer (as luck would have it, it wasn't happening at the time). I actually took the tech for a ride to confirm this myself.

I believe it's a slave cylinder issue, it seems to be getting "blow-by" and losing pressure over time. When it's occuring, the clutch pedal is free (no pressure) all the way down to the engagement point. FWIW, only once have I noticed any slippage, but can't confirm that the clutch pedal was doing the above at the time.

The tech I dealt with feels the same as me, that it's the slave cylinder. All he needs to do is reproduce the problem and will replace both the master and the slave to see what happens. I plan on dropping the car off one evening so it can sit overnight before he looks at it.

I'm not sure replacing the cylinder will actually solve the issue as it is probably design related, especially after hearing that others have the same issue.

No WAY I see this issue as an actual transmission problem. I see no evidence at all of that being it. I'll keep you guys informed through the process.

You are 100% correct. This happened to me too. In the morning when I start the car, the preasure was not there. Wow this is nuts! Can you say recall? Tell me what happens because with me, Nissan cant seem to find the parts! the slave cylinder wont be availible till April 20th and the rest of the "clutch assembly" has no ETA at all What a sad predicamant (sp)

BTW, if they cannot reproduce the problem, have them call Nissan consumer affairs. When I called, they asked what car was experiencing the problem and I said "2007 350Z" ans they said "oooh I should have known" Seems like I was not the first with the problem.

Is there a chance you have a touring or a GT?

Something odd I found out today. The mechanic said that within the 07's, there are different MOTORS?!?! One of them (mine) uses the new slave cylinder assembly where the cylinder is actually inside the case. He said they asked him which one it was when he was at parts getting the parts. Thats why its hard for them to get the parts. I dont know/think this is true but I am jsut relaying what he said.

Update, costumer relations called yesterday and asked me to give him some time to find the parts. My car is in the shop now for 2 weeks this coming thursday. And this problem started around mrch 20th. BOO ****ING HOO..

sorry to hear this evolved that sucks hopefully the dealership stops coming up with all these possible problems that probably has nothing to do with it and get your Z back up and running like it should.

Grand Touring here.

Yeah I've spent some time talking to the mechanic also. Nothing about different motors between models though. The slave cylinder/throw-out bearing assembly is new this year. Mine's in the shop now also, and I also know that Nissan knows they have a problem here. Apparently they've got an engineer working on the issue now.

The tech was waiting on a call from the engineer yesterday afternoon that apparently never came. I'm supposed to be getting another call today to let me know what the status is.

I'll let you know what I hear if it's anything definitive. I think part of the issue is they realize there's a design flaw somewhere in the slave cylinder...and just replacing it isn't really going to solve it. We'll see.

Next time I talk to the tech I'll ask him if there is a difference between models, but I kind of doubt it.

Whats your production dates? I have one made in Dec/06. Only have around 300 miles on the car now. Should I worry? Right now compared to my 06 the car does shift a lot smoother and easier.

I can't, especially considering that the tranny has to come out to get to it

FWIW, my understanding is ...it's the same basic design that Ford has been using in trucks for years.

I had the same problem with my old Eclipse, except the pedal went to the floor and stayed there!!! I was forced to tow the car to the dealer where they performed repairs and never had a problem again for the next 12 years I drove that car. Good thing I was driving on a local road at the time (I walked to a diner which was in sight of my car and waited drinking some coffee while the tow was dispatched). Otherwise I would have had to pull over on a highway and wait for tow service from there.

Approximately how many miles were on your cars when you first noticed the clutch pedal issue.
