Default Install kits for 3.9 Final drive

I just ordered my 3.9 FD from Vivid and am wondering since they told me they don'T ship the install kits anymore (1 and 2).

My questions are:

1. Is the install kit necessary? What about install kit #2?
2. What's a good price for those kits and who sells them?

Not being sure what they included in their install kit, but it was most likely the new sides seals and bearings and all the varied shim sizes. Its pretty much a list of all the parts called out in the FSM for a differential rebuild. I think the guys at Performance Nissan sold a shim kit and they have all the parts available.

I don't have the list available right now, but if you have the part numbers, you can get the items from any Nissan dealer. The shims are the hardest part because there's about 48 different sizes and you don't know exactly which ones you need until you're actually rebuilding it.

What I'm wondering is if I'll mostly need install kit 2, does it include the different shim sizes?

I know you already ordered it from us, but figured I'd point it out anyway

Big ups to Vivid for completely copying and pasting the description I WROTE on their own website...way to go guys...tools

theirs:

http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/p...ducts_id/20063

ours:

http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?m...ne&prodid=1726

The difference is when we talk about the install kit parts, its because we actually SELL them

Sorry Armitage we don't do any installs, except on our own in house cars.

Interesting that Vivid posted this, and then deleted it

"since you have the install kits and we have the gears. how much is our price so we can provide that to our customers? "

Sorry - figure it out for yourselves. I have 0 interest in helping you anymore than I already have.
