Default Quick tranny question

Hi i just got my 06 base Z about 2 weeks ago, and i dont know if i just never did it, or i have a problem on my hands....Im assuming i never did it before, but i turned off my car with the clutch not depressed and it made this horrible noise like a grinding, clankity clank noise, but if i shut off the car while the clutch is depressed it doesnt do it, i tried to search a littel but i dont have time to be looking for ever, can someone shed some light on the situation for me i would appreciate it, thanks....Mike
