Default Throttle Body Measurement

I was wondering if any of you with a Z could measure your throttle body (mm). I don't have a Z yet but I want to start buying parts before I get it. I know they don't have TB's yet, but I was going to search on companie's sites, such as HKS for a misc. TB. Thanks in advance.

lol,

I just finished putting mine back together and then you posted this!Didn't think to measure, port and polishing is needed for sure.

I would bet 52mm though.

We did a back to back with our two differnt T bodies at two differnt tracks. According to the Motec data............no differnce in top end nor acceleration.

good info thanks

68 is a good size.

Was the back to back including port and polished or larger after market?

stock vs bored out with new throttle plate and half the throttle plate cylinder removed. It looks very nice, but it resulted in no change in the acceleration graph nor top end.

Thanks for that info, dwnshift! I wanted to port and polish mine, but if it doesn't help out in power, I won't take the time.

Thumbs up Ditto

thanks from me too because I was considering the same thing while it was off. Great pics.

It's not looking good for race day tomorow.

I broke a bolt on the TB 72MM long and Nissan won't have me one till Thursday (racing is Wednesday) only 2 bucks but still a bummer.

It seems to be affecting my idle, that one missing bolt. It jumps up and down erratticly and even the car shut off.

I am almost out of gas though. Would one missing bolt cause that, I'm pretty sure it is Air related. It seems like this car runs best though with a 1/4 tank or better like my 89 IROC. Anyone else notice that?

It's also just about ready to dump rain again

I may skip a week and fix this bolt (if we can't find one anywhere locally) and hope for better weather too. We shall see.

If you unplugged the T body dont forget to reset the t B closed position learning and reset the idle learning. the first one is easy.....
on for 5 seconds
then off for ten and repeat three times.................

The idle learning
turn on for 5 seconds.......full throttle and off 5 times in 5 seconds
then count to seven full seconds , then full throttle and hold for 10 seconds
the service engine soon light should then start blinking
keep throolte held down until it goes solid adn release before 3 seconds
then start and let idle (do not touch gas for 20 seconds)
then rev it up a couple tijmes and see were it idles
should be about 650 to 700 RPMs.

I'll keep that in mind and print it out but I don't think we unplugged it. After we finished the jet upgrade we went and spent half a bottle squeezing so we can have a fresh bottle tomorow.

It ran like a top. SOTP from 65 to 75 was WAY more than obvious and that was with two people in the car! We hit 123mph in just a little more than a 1/4 mile and laid scratch (in an AFT without messing with any fuses) for about 10 feet on the bottle.

It wasn't until I came home and let it idle that it did that, haven't checked it today or drove it, been driving my SUV doing chore type stuff the DTE low gas light came on while we were spraying and I was wondering if that was related?

Thanks I consider you a great source of info.

Default Dwnshift can you help

I am trying to cut and paste your instructions so I can perform these procedures.

Is this the same method as clearing a CEL?

I did this once but not the first part you mention.

Elaborate more please.

A. Would I have a CEL if we unplugged it, because we don't have one.

B. When you say turn it on is it to on or run?

I am going to do the first and second steps.

I looked at the TB and I don't think it is the problem.

We had went and bought some copper spray high heat gasket spray permatek, the good stuff and kept the stock gasket in there too. To me the seal looks tight as stock.

Of course I am gonna throw in the 4th bolt Thursday when it comes in, I already paid for it and it was only 2 bucks, but it's still not raining and I really wanna run tomorow, but not until I resolve this idle issue.

I want to do these two things you mention then go put about 6 gallons of some really good gas (I have never used anything less than Premium) and run it for awhile! I just to be clear on you instructions first because it's almost out of gas (but no CEL lights)

No on just refers to the key in the on position.....not starting.
It is a pain in the but.....if you dont get the timing right you have to put the key in the off position for 10 seconds and try it all over.
And the light that blinks is the service engine soon light.
To check for DTC's you would let off the gas when the light starts blinking.......it will blink slowly 10 times after that it will start blinking in code if you have thrown one...... 5 blinks then 6 blinks then 4 blinks would equal 564

z33boi

Check my webpage where it says www it has allot of the info you want. Cost would include Audio so I don't want to quote that. Plus rims and tires etc.

Intake, Exhaust and ZEX? Not much considering.

Less than 1800.00 easy. Those ET numbers will be updated very soon too. Hopefully tomorow it still han't rained!

Hey Dwnshft those instructions were awesome! Slightly different than clearing the CEL so it took a few times. It's so precise but I love the programming ability this car has! Someone finds a way to program my rev limiter to 6800 please let me know ASAP!
Car idles at exactly 750 and took it out on the hughway and it just seems so tuned! Would love to have a AFC II that removes rev limiter!

I have the service manual CD exactly where are people finding these programming instructions (for future reference?)

Peaz!
