Default Need a good clutch

I have everything thats in my sig and recently put some slicks on my car and took it to the track... Needless to say, my stock clutch in my 06 will not hold 450lb of torque... I have heard ACT is a good clutch, but dont really know.... Also, should I go with a clutch/flywheel combo or just the clutch... I also want to be as cost efective as possible... Can some one point me in the right direction...

If you are going to upgrade your clutch. I would recommend upgrading your flywheel. I love my JWT Flywheel and ACT clutch combo.

You will notice a huge difference with the flywheel, not only in power but just your driving experience IMO. Plus, you are already spending the labor down there, dont think it would cost much more to install the flywheel at the same time.

I will agree with the JWT combo, been on my car for 30K miles with 12K being FI. Works flawlessly.

Is it true that if u have a lighter FW like ACT Prolite and ur FI that setup it's not recommended for drag????

Default Flywheel/Clutch combos

The RPS Cyn-R-G flywheel and their Streetmax clutch have proven to be everything they were advertised to be. Great friction, no slippage, and quiet. I was worried about using some of the other products out there under high boost.
If I had it to do over again, I'd probably go with JWT just because it feels more like the stock clutch. You have to have a stout left leg with my setup....

If you are on a budget, you can stick with the stock flywheel, but 90% of the time, we'll use a lightweight flywheel as well. We just did a stock flywheel, coupled with a Clutch Master Stage 4 on Stormcows car, and its very nice. Pedal pressure is a little stiffer than stock, and it has a sharper engagement..you can definately tell it means business, but still not bad for daily driving.

Alberto had good success with his JWT combo, but IMHO, there are better choices for true drag racing abuse.

+1 sharif hooked me up with the clutchmasters stage 4 clutch lightweight flywheel and it can hold 450+ ftlbs ....pedal feel is almost stock and engagement isnt too harsh with the power it can hold

they all do it...it's a byproduct of that combo, and the JWT is among the noisiest ones out there. It's not horrible by any means, but it is noisier than some others

in your experience which combo on the market offers the lease amount of noise? I have a fellow G35 driver that had a ACT clutch installed with a lighten flywheel(dont remember which one) and it car sound horrible at idle and low rpms. after the install he was ashamed to drive his car. He went out and brought a brand new stock clutch and flywheel and had it installed.
