Default Hey guys Newby to the Z need advuce

Ok guys whats up? I am not new to modding I have owned a modded Miata and Modded 99 Maxima that i loved. I love the Z its like a Miata on steroids and CRACK. The shifter **** transmits the power from the spinning flywheel to my hand i feel all the power right from shifter. I love it But now to the real question and i need honesty here guys. I hear that stock airbox is the best way to go with my car so i am keeping that and not switching to intake. My question is. Which is the Better Plenum spacer from "experienced modders" . The AAM angled spacer or the Motordyne 5/16th spacer. I would like to keep my stock strut bar for now. After plenum i think i am going to buy the HKS Hi-power exhaust with Ti tips but i need some help with spacer.

Please dont vote without an explanation i would like to understand what your guys experiences are. Thanks in advance

both are very equal. AAMs is angled to make the plenum equal throughout though. Both work with the strut bar when you use the spacers included.

You have an 04, right? Just go with the spacer. I've not heard any complaints on Motordyne and Tony (who designed and produces the parts) is an active member on this site.

Looks like no one thins AAM is good spacer. Does the spacer make a huge diffrence in feel and actual power? Have people raced a car for example a 06 BMW 330 and saw the results with and without the spacer

Agreed.

To the original poster (OP) please search, lurk (read without posting), and learn before starting anymore threads.

Im sure the AAM spacer is a good product, but I can only speak from my own personal experience, and I purchased the Motordyne spacer. All the instructions were top notch, and made install a breeze. It is a good product!

i just installed my mrev2 last week... with our nonrevup engines it doesn't make sense to do both the spacer and the lower plenum... so you have to pick just one. you could do both but there is almost no gain...you wont feel the difference. after e-mailing motordyne (they have really good customer service) and doing searches in this forum i learned:

for the money..the spacer is a pretty good deal. technically you get a little bit more performance from the lower plenum swap..but its really close. the mrev2 will give you more in the midrage and a little bit more torque. there are plenty of dyno charts if you use the search engine. its the same amount of work to remove the lower plenum and or spacer...so i went with the mod that gave just a little bit more. i can definitely hear and feel a difference...very happy with this mod

I went with the AAM spacer and AAM intake at the same time. I noticed a difference right away bot in sound and performance.

If you dont have any useful information, dont post. Telling people to search is silly man. If you really had something against the thread, you shouldnt reply jack **** to it. I'm also curious of this information!

On a side note. If you search and reply to an old post. People tell you this is an old thread, why are you bringing it back up.

If you open a new thread to get some feedback to your question, you get why dont you try searching. More and more I read this crap. If your not being helpful step off. Bunch of internet bullies! LOL

Don't have useful information? Just the fact that I posted in this thread shows the OP that I have the MD spacer. Is that useful enough for you?

Why is it there's always 1 guy who stands up for the newbie who doesn't know how to lurk and search?
