Depends on whom you ask, and with what accessories. The FWD VQ longblock was weighed in at 310 lbs. A member here who swapped a VQ35 into his 240SX reported the RWD longblock to be about 20lbs less than his iron block KA, so 340 lbs. A guy in England used a VQ35 in a mid-engined project car and said it weighed in at 450 lbs complete with manifolds and accessories (minus A/C). If you account the intake manifold, fuel injectors, fuel rail, exhaust manifolds, flywheel, starter, and alternator and power steering pump to weigh about 100lbs together, then a 340 lb long block seems to be the most accurate weight.

EDIT: IES reports its VQ racing engine weighs in at 286lbs dry, no manifolds, clutch, etc... Considering their block has no CVTC system, no oil pump, Ti rods and lightened crank, Ti valves, etc.. 310lbs for a stock VQ longblock could be right on. So 310-340lbs is the general agreement.

awesome info, guys, thanks a lot!

that seems very light, which is awesome for a V6. that adds to my already high opinion of the VQ. a lot of new I4's weigh in at about that much too.

I guess that depends on your point of view. The tranny is really heavy. An LS1/T56 combo is 630lbs complete, as weighed by a Datsun Z guy who swapped in a "newer" Scarrab conversion. The VQ35 is only about 50lbs lighter all said and done with the tranny. But, it is a good bit lighter than expected when you compare it against some iron block 4's and sixes. By comparison, a full SR20DET red top w/5-speed is 490 lbs complete.
