Default 06 vs 04/05 350z Engines

How is it that the 06 makes 13 more hp than the 04/05 ( excluding aniversary addition). My numbers are according to edmunds.com.

........no it is not a joke. I was under the impression that the 03-06 had the exact same power. A friend of mine with a g35 told me since my model is a 04 it wont be as fast as a 05 or 06.

I challenged him saying that the 03-06 had the same engine/power. We bet 20$ on it. We went to the school library and if you spend the time you took saying useless comments in this thread you would see that edmunds says the 06 has 13 more hp than the 04/05s.

Well il be damned, there is a 13 hp difference between the cars in the links posted above!

Only the manual trannies have the 300hp rev-up engines in '06, the automatics still have 287 hp and redline at 6600 not the 7000 of the rev-ups.

I have an 06 AT with the 287hp. I have been searching this form trying to find out if I have the revup or non rev up. This is the only post I can find that simply states what it is. Thanks

If you bet 20 on 06 not having more power then you lost. So get your money back and say it hasnt made a difference. Tell him the younger models have more tq! If he doesnt agree you can get that 20 spot back.

The only reason i'm answering this question is because I get another post count.

03-05 Z/G Auto - 287hp
03-05 except Anniversary Edition Z/G 6spd - 287hp
05 Anniversary Edition Z 6spd - 300hp
06 Z/G 6spd - 300hp
06 Z/G Auto - 287hp

The reason for the increase is the REVUP motor has a different lower intake manifold and also exhaust cam timing as well.
