Default Quick question...

so i was wondering why is it that for like the past month my car has been backfiring very very often and shoots flames here and there and im very lightly modded but the thing is ive had the same mods for a while but it wouldnt backfire or shoot flames before just like started a month ago any ideas to why this may be? im not complaining cuz i love it everytime it backfires i get a b0ner

If you are serious------- Put vacuum gauge on it at idle and see what it does. it should hold steady

and if it doesnt what could that mean? and yes as serious as a heart attack oh and the car is pretty steady at idle

If its a mechanical problem as opossed to a Electronic problem then it may indicate you have a bad valve for example

Also a compression/leakdown test would be in order and at that time do a plug reading

yah...somethign weird going on there..... get tit to a mechanic asap... you ahve any codes? how is your fuel consumption.... have you been over-reving your engine a lot?

i dont over rev to much at all i hate reving to hard cuz i feel bad for my car it comsomes fuel pretty quick but i thought it was kinda normal maybe just a lil more than usual now ive had a ses light on for the tp but thats been on for like 4-5 months

get it to a tunner shop to check it out...
hopefully everything is ok and you jsut need to get yoru car retuned...
In the mean time you coudl also try to jsut reset your ecu, might help

thanks alot i appreciate the help it just started to worry me cuz its happening more often ill reset the ecu today and theres a tuning shop around the corner thanks again

get air/fuel ratio tested on a dyno.

this is not that uncommon with test pipes, but you may be running rich (excess fuel in exhaust burning up)

My MR2 turbo would burp fire between each shift. Wickedly sweet. People would chase me down just to tell me how good it looked. I miss that.
