I would love to see pics of this plenum. Also like somebody already asked, if this is a new redesigned plenum why do we need to send in ours as a core? Not trying to be a smart-*** just wondering, I would like to keep all my stock parts. TIA

Hitting the flowbench on Friday...

I'll be eager to see exact # comparisons...

I saw my dyno... blew me away.

I am guessing that the added volume near the front of the plenum is because the front cylinders are running too rich or are starved for air(?). Also, I realize that this is early in development, but, will there be a more aesthetically pleasing version? Possibly a polished aluminum skin over the entire top that still allows access to the bolts.

I applaud Crawford for seeing something that can be improved and ....a) having the skill to figure out what's wrong, b) having the guts to try and make something better, and C) to actually make something better. Well done guys, if I actually follow up with my G35C order I'll be ringing you up for all sorts of stuff.

That's the first time I've seen a pic of the manifold with the plastic cover removed. I know that's not the stock one but the manifold looks whacky to me. Not the crawford one, but just the way the stock one is designed. It looks like a manifold for an I-6 with all the runners side by side like that. Do they criss-cross or something down to the intake ports?? That just looks like strange? I'm used to the normal criss-cross over top of each port on V engines. Which intake runners go to which pistons? IE do the runners on the outside go to the pistons towards the front of the car?

Plus I don't much care too much what it looks like as long as it puts out the power. Once again, good work guys.

Nevermind, after seeing the pics VQRacer posted I understand why you would want our stock plenums. How many inches taller is the Crawford plenum than stock? TIA

Exactly... size wise... hmm, I'll measure tonight.

We're looking into resources to have a "bling bling" cast unit made... since this isn't pretty enough for the majority.

In the picture I see a flyer with text on it. It appears if it says that with headers, intake plenum, and high-flow cats, you're getting 40rwhp total. Was that number arrived at by dynoing each mod individually or were all the mods present for that dyno run?

If you do have a combined mod dyno, can I get a copy?

Thanks,
Jeff

All mods were combined...

If you're in ATL... Doug is going to be at Balanced Performance dyno'g again down there. Plus the plenum/head will be on the flowbench!

Can you describe how Doug's car felt, through out the rev band, in comparision to your own car? It there any loss of low-end torquel?

Thanks,
Greg

0 - 4000 very stock feel
4000 - 5200 ehhh, something feels different
5200 - redline - pulls like a Honda (I made 20 rwhp up here)

At idle the car feels like it revs quite a bit easier...

and just for laughs... which its hasn't been mentioned...

this thing makes a killer ... woo woo sound!

Once I get it on my car, yeah I'll make a pass... sadly there isn't a 1/4 around here. Only 1/8th.

PLUS I just put new RE040s on my car... feels like I went to taller gears... ick.

Is your car making the 20 rwhp with the plenum alone?

At redline... yes

Because in terms of roadracing the S03s suck... Doug shreaded his set pretty rapidly, in my opinion they don't have as stiff a sidewall. You don't want the water channels to be large, compare the RE040 and the S03s... In terms of drag racing I would bet the S03 is a dominant tire thou.

I hear the opposite. The 040s arent a very sticky tire and dont grip real well. S03's are a real great tire from the reviews I have read. The S03 is bridgestone's flagship performance tire.

I personally ran the S03s at the last road event, and Evil's RE040s held up quite a bit better.

Yea but I am willing to bet you ran quicker lap times with the S03s. What tire pressure where you running?

Non-timed road event... but of course I did, I have far more experience then Evil did. More importantly I'm running 255f and 275r...

If they were stock sizes... same driver, the RE040s would be just as fast.

Just look at the water channels... the S03s are just TOO far aparts to be good for track events. It's a KILLER street tire... but natured just for that.
