Default Just arrived (ok yesterday) Nippon Eneos 5w40

I just got 2 cases of Nippon Eneos 5w40 oil delivered.

I will be changing my oil Wed and putting this in. I will be doing an oil analysis on it at 1,000, 2,000 and 3,000 miles. I will post up the results in the oil analysis thead for everyone.

This is Japan's #1 rated Synthetic oil. I haven't heard of anyone using it on the boards yet, so maybe I am the first.

If anyone else does have experience with this oil, post up what you have to say and any oil analysis's you have.

That's a full PAO G4 oil. It's also pretty damn hard to find. I think SuperAutoBacs has it for the CA guys, but I don't know of anyone else who carries it. I have only seen two UOA's done with it, and neither were from a VQ. They are the F1 supplier for Toyota and they claim their 0W-50 is pretty close to the PAO 0W-70 they supply the team with.
Why are you testing it at the 1k and 2k intervals, and not just do a 3k interval test, and if it looks good then keep going on it for anotehr 3k or whatever length the lab recommends?

Just for the hell of it. If it still looks good at 3K, I will extend out until 5K and test again.

wasn't bad priced $59.00 a case shipped.

Thanks for being willing to post your UOA's when you get them. You will be the first FI UOA we have on here, and I've been looking to start a different UOA comparison chart for FI guys. It will be nice to start it off with what should be a good quality oil, and compare against some more expensive exotic brands like Motul or Elf, as well as some over the counter brands as well. Hopefully, we'll gain some good information in comparison to what your oil samples look like compared to normal daily driven samples to see any real impact the FI kits are adding to engine wear. Thanks again,
Will

I'm sure it will be fine... IMO change the intervals to 2000, 4000, and 6000. If it looks like crap at 4k (unlikely) then change it then. But I'm sure you will make it to 6k with no problem.s
