VRT Building VQ for Sport Compact Car!
I just read in Sport Compact Car, (June 2007) that VRT will be building, and tuning a new turbo engine for the Magazines' 350 Z test shootout against the Corvette Z06! Anybody in the My350Z community know what VRT is Planning for the project car? Hp output?

I will talk to Jay at Sports Compact and ask his opinion on HOW MUCH information he wants me to talk about this project on the boards. Not trying to be an ***, just making sure I don't spoil their article for the printed magazine.
Sure you can understand.
More to come...
Warmly

A work in Progress.
Many companies are contributing to the build including JWT, Pauter, JE, and more...
The car is going to be hot and we are hoping we can hang with a New Z06 with the set-up and budget with comparable drivers.
NOTE:
We are only responsible for the Power, VRT Suspension, and TTs, hope they pick the right parts on the braking and wheels and tires to hang. Going to be interesting.

Honestly,
This is a Big Boy Fight...wow...what did I get myself into. The New ZO6 is the ****...LOL
NOTE:
Because this is a magazine article, i haven't been free to discuss all of the details. I can tell you we are targetting a solid 550 whp and similiar torque. We will need at least those kind of numbers to compete eventhough the stock new ZO6 has only 479 FT/LBS and around 440 WHP.
Important:
The ZO6 gearbox is amazing as well as its brakes and suspension. Not sure if any of you have seen the underbody of this car, it truely is a work of art and is design to create downforce from the bottom of the car like Ferraris, Lambos, GT3s, and Bugattis.
No matter what parts we put on the 350Z it will never have the aero engineering the ZO6 has...Never...brake ducting, carbo undercarrige...a work of art...
Its going to be a fun fight though. Not the first time we have built cars targetting to compete at the highest level. Remember the RUN WITH THE FERRARI THREAD...That was fun.
Limited Information:
Please be patient with my lack of infomation:
Basics (subject to change)
Custom 8.5:1 JE Pistons
Pauter Rods
JWT Custom cams
JWT Valve springs
JWT BB700 tt kit
VRT Coilovers Suspension
VRT Camber kit
Enkei 9.5 and 10.5 rims
NTO1s 275/315/30/18
Koyo radiator
Brembo upgraded brakes
Eibach Sways
Many more mods to come...Will have to wait for more information from Jay Chen at Sports Compact.
Take Care.

Why aren't you going for a 9:1 pistons? It would seem you'd get just a tiny bit better response, which I think would be important for the track? Again I'm a newbie that doesn't know anything, but am merely curious.
Also, good luck, I will be waiting to hear the results. And again, give that Z06 hell . . . . . .
