Stock 06 Dyno
#3
Factory tune? No mods, no utec? No reflash? On a Dyno Dynamics, he's pulling harder than an HR by about 15 horses. I'm thinking... Not stock he ain't.

Nawww, I've seen a stock HR pull about 250 on the dyno dynamics. After test pipes and exhaust was installed that same night, he pulled about 265-ish. But then again, you really can't compare numbers from one dyno to another. About the only thing you can accurately compare is the delta between the 'before' and 'after' dyno. The same car on the same dyno.
But even then factors affect every dyno pull differently like the 'mood' of the ecu, humidity, ambient temp, barometric pressure, engine temp, intake temp, tie-down pressure, etc.... dynos are only really good for tuning.

I'm building custom cats for the 07 mix that with the nismo exhaust should get a decent 8-12 out of it...

This is definately a DJ corrected number...no doubt about it. I really hate it when shops do this...it diminishes the hard work that we do, and also cheapens the Dyno Dynamics is a precision tuning tool. 265whp is absolutely not possible on a bone stock 06, on the Dyno Dynamics....I am calling 100% BS on this one.

churches is to the hub not the wheels. Don't get too happy.

That and the number of cars that get tuned their....easier to compare numbers with other local Z guys
I was disappointed the guy the the 06 Z only made 3hp more than me....all that money on the nismo stuff and the results were not close to being worth the 13-1500 he spent on the parts I got my popcharger for $110 new and was very happy with it

Alot of the guys throw a bunch of mods on at once and then dyno but I will take my time and re-dyno for comparison....I think a stock 06 could make more power with a tune even with stock parts....unless I am missing something with tunes lower than 13-13.5 for NA.....it went below 13.0 from 5K rpm on and dipped below 12.0 by 5900 rpm
I think with just a tune from 4500 to 7K it could pick up a few ponies and be lighter on the fuel use lol .....looking at the sheet I was shocked it was a factory tune

It's the combination of parts also that make the difference. The damn ECU's on these cars don't recognize every mod. I know tp's make a huge difference though, I will vouch for that.

I fail to believe this dyno'd more than the HR motor since Sharif has dyno'd one on a DD.

I had a 06' REVUP and I drove a HR and I can say that the HR is clearly faster. It has loads of tq at low rpm and the powerband is very smooth going all the way to redline.
The clutch however is much softer than the 06's which were pretty damn soft compared to 03-05.

There is a member here who said he ran a 07 in his 06 from a roll and at higher speeds it slowly walked away.
