what year is your car?

it is repairable but not at all worth it. to minimize the grinding, i suggest you to let the revs catch and slowly shift into 5th. it's a good way to remedy a synchromesh transmission with an ailing synchro.

=Yes.
=If you have less than 60,000 Nissan will replace it for free.

(I was wondering if an aftermarket flywheel/clutch/pressure plate setup would affect the 5th gear syncho going bad.....thanks for answering that.)

Be sure to ask for the CD009 model tranny. If you have a 2004+, they will attempt to give you a CD008.

HAHA, I got the same set up with JWT TT and JWT clutch and my car is at the dealer for a new tranny because of 5th gear grinding, 13,000 miles.
