Default How would you spend $1000 on a stock AT Z?

I want to add a noticible amount of horsepower without pulling the motor or comprimising my baby's daily drivability. Keep in mind this is an auotmatic.

Here's what I was thinking: Angled plenum spacer
Underdrive pully set
Catback exhaust
Cold air intake

Can anyone recommend the brands I should look at to keep this under a 1000 bucks? Thanks!

this is what i would do

1-motordine plenum spacer 5/16". $289
2-top speed pro-1 exhoust. $350
3-Pop charger JWT. $100
4-Test pipes random technology $200
5-booz and entry fee to track $50

total $1k, car will sound sick, and you will have vary noticable gains.

HANDS DOWN,

Buy a 3.5 Final Drive for the car. That is the SINGLE greatest mod for a 5AT ever made.

After that, spend the rest on a nice Intake, the Momo Shift Kit and if you have any cash left over, get an Exhaust.

Trust Me, the 3.5 Drive takes the car from a Lamb to a Lion!

For added thrills, get the 3.9fd..

I PM'd Twitch This Answer;

The bump from the stock 3.5 to 3.9 is dramatic. You accelleration and launch G-Force are increased quite a bit. You finally get that "Throw you back in your seat" feeling that most 300hp Sports Cars (Like the older 911's, C5 Vette, ect) give you.

What do you want to improve? Handling? Power? Amenities? You could go in various directions.

For example, for power, since I love talking about it :

If PA gets 93 oct, and I think that it does, I think you'll make most power with engine management. I think you can score a used UTEC on the classifieds with money to spare for test pipes. Go catless to reduce back pressure and drop your EGTs, lean out your fueling, add timing and you'll make more power this way than any bolt on you can find. You can probably extract 25whp this way. You have to remember that the stock car was tuned for 91oct. You got room with 93oct for more gains provided you can take advantage of it.
