Can anyone give me a simple walkthru on fogging a Z engine for storage? Thanks

 

WTF is fogging? No, I'm not searching... I dont' feel like it.

 

Fogging is where you spray a lubricant onto the cylinder walls, via spark plugs or intake mani. (for storage for long periods of time) Just wondering if anyone has done this, their results and opinions.

 

Never heard of that-you learn something new everyday. How long are you planning on storing for?

 

fogging is pretty common way of for boat engines before storing for the winter, not sure how it would work on a modern engine or if its even a good idea, but with a carburated boat engine, you get some foggin oil and spray in into the carb until the engine dies. You may want to just fill the engine full of oil to the top, and then drain before starting it again

Interesting... I dont' think you should do it.

 

The only reason I want to do it is becuase I'll be on deployment for 6 months and I just can't handle the thought of rust building up on those aluminum walls, even tho its alum. ...still just can't handle it!

 

Isn't there ANYONE you trust to start it up once every week or two?
