Default Throttle cutting...

I did a search on this and mostly found this issue on turbo Z's or highly modded cars, but mine is really close to stock so I'd rather get an opinion based on problems with the actual car.

Anyways, whenever I first start out driving (after turning it on). In 2nd or 3rd gear at about 3k rpms and more than half throttle, sometimes the throttle cuts, and I could have it pinned to the floor but the needle still raises real slow, and sometimes it jumps back to full throttle.

Then it all goes away after driving for about 2 or 3 miles.

This is my first drive-by-wire car, so maybe this is the issue?

Are you touching the brake pedal?

Sounds like an ECM or Throttle body issue. Take it to a dealer. Make sure you can duplicate the problem for them.

I have an appointment for next wednesday, so I'll let you guys know what happens. That way we can "archive" this problem for future use.

Yea, the needle's even in the middle on the engine temp gauge.

I've had this car a year and never had this, now I am having it every time I drive.

Well, it could possibly be the throttle position sensor.

Strange, that should throw an SES code, though. You don't have the "black tape SES mod" do you?

Nope, and no CEL lights.

I'm stumped.

I'll give a cookie to whoever can guess the problem and is accurate when the dealer diagnosis' it.

I had the same problem and it only got worse over time until one night on the road all the lights came on and my car refused to accelerate. Its the TB and the only way to fix it is to replace the whole unit. This is actually very common on our Z's for some reason. Nissan recently started selling remanufactured TB's at a lower price due to this.

Update: My cruise control is acting funny. I hit cruise to turn on the first green light, then when I try to set it, it doesn't but rather blinks at me until I turn it off.

WTF?

Well I leave it at Nissan for the night, I even write on the thing that it's probably the Throttle Body or TPS since my cruise control is affected. They call me, tell me it's a wire in my CAI, and it's fixed, charge me $130, and the problem is still there.

How is that fair?

Any of you with this problems changed out the tailights to LEDS or anything cuz if you did, that might be the problem.
