Forged is right in ATL, and they can get you a built motor to handle 600-650whp, for $3,485, and they'll pay for your car's transportation and a flight for you to go out there. Read up on Forged man, nothing but good things said about them and the tuning they do.

built motors should handle whatever you throw at them. Obviously the more you spend the more it will handle due to material differences and such.

The purpose of a built motor is not to gain HP, but to make it safe to run high hp & tq with forced induction.

There has only been one member to my knowledge that has achieved more than 300 whp on a built motor itself on a dynojet, and trust me, the bill is something you do not want to know about.

Depends on your goals. If you want to run NA then you bore, stroke and hi compression that pig. Then the build will mke power.
In FI terms, then yes I agree

Yeah, but that would be a waste of money unless its some personal project or goal. You would be spending big bucks for maybe 300-320 whp.

yeah the only reason he did it really was cause he owned a shop, didnt need to pay out hte *** for labor. built motors with high compression for N/A power = waste of money. if you wana stay N/A just do boltons, cams, utec, tune.

+1...The devil is in the details. Make sure your shop estimate is 99% complete, or you might in for a surprise. The shortblocks alone are $3300-$3900, and thats just the beginning of the estimate.
