I would like to see a VH45 swap in a Z. they came in the early 90s Q45 and is a great high reving motor the only problem is that no one makes cams for it so you would have to find a place to get them custom made.

The VH block it self is preety strong and is a closed deck. Some say the block can with stand over 500hp

but a VH would be a better but then a VK45 since you can pic a VH45 for some times less then 1000.

Estimated cost according to SCC was ~25K in real world dollars. to make 700ps...

Its freaking cool but cost effective to go fast!!!!

i really don't want to beat a dead horse but i m new here but currently do have a rb26dett long block and will be potentially swapping it into the z... ive had this motor ofr like EVER now.. i dreampt it up years ago for a 240 but then taht damn mustang bug came around and bit me. 3 and a half years, 4 stangs, 7 ford engines, and assorted parts later i am back to a nissan. Altoughi wiladmit.. when i saw lsx swap was possible i got excited but i just read that it ruins the weight distribution blance

You read wrong.

The LSX is lighter than the VQ, and actually brings weight balance closer to 50/50.

i thought bout that but i like the z styling more so i considered doing the all wheel drive conversion but i still dont think it would work cause of the complexity of skyline's all wheel drive system..plus tahts a whole lot more cash... do you know if i use an ls motor the 6 speed will still be functional.. sorry ive researched the rx-7 conversion but not the z.

You would be switching to a T-56 6 speed.

Where can I learn more about these?

HEll you could by the whole R32 for that now. Hows this the VQ30 DET for teh win ( not the old z32 but the gloriya/ laurel engine) sell the rb to a fan boy and still pocket some cash. New pistons and rods and your there for 600hp. It comes with the piston coolers just like the RB and its already a turbo. The 3 liter that can. You could do a big single or a tt and be finnished. With the big single space might be a pain. But you could still build a tt 3.o for less than 10g and not mess up the car.

Still supports the Z trannie and harness. Comes with a fuel return and your Z intake will fit. Dosnt have the VVT but who needs it if you go after market ecu and the heads flow as good as ported N/A heads.
